Book launch and talk, Toronto, 26 June 2018

If you’re anywhere near Toronto, you are warmly invited to join me at this event on 26 June 2018 at Artscape Sandbox. It’s a (free) talk and book launch for the new expanded edition of ‘Making is Connecting: The social power of creativity, from craft and knitting to digital everything’.

Here’s the blurb:

‘Making is Connecting’, first published in 2011, struck a chord with crafters, YouTubers, makers, music producers, artists, and coders alike. Here we are launching the Second Expanded Edition, which is fully revised with many new sections, and three all-new chapters on creative processes, do-it-yourself strategies, and platforms for creativity. (More info at: http://makingisconnecting.org)

David Gauntlett is from the UK, and has recently moved to Canada to take up the role of Canada Research Chair in the Faculty of Communication and Design, Ryerson University.

David will talk about the book and the thinking behind the new edition – to maximise its usefulness as an inspiring tool for makers. This will be followed by a reception with drinks and some form of food.

The launch is hosted by Ryerson University and Artscape.

Copies of the book will be available to buy, thanks to our friends at Another Story bookshop.

The event is FREE but registration is essential, at: https://making2018.eventbrite.ca.
