Out now! ‘Creating with Nature’ cards

Now available in North America, Europe and worldwide – Val Duarte and me made a deck of creativity cards!

Published by Bis in Amsterdam, Creating with Nature is a beautifully printed deck of 54 cards, crafted to ignite new ways of thinking and doing by reconnecting with the natural world. Nature’s role in enhancing creativity and wellbeing has been recognized for centuries, but we were inspired to make these cards by our research project, Reframing Creativity, in which we found that professional creators wanted to talk to us about connections with the natural world much more than we had anticipated!

This deck is an invitation for artists, creators, and problem solvers to reconnect with the outdoors, nurture their creative selves, and view creative challenges in a fresh light.

Whether you’re tackling a specific project, seeking to break through a creative block, or guiding a brainstorming session, Creating with Nature offers invaluable inspiration. It’s not just for structured projects – these cards can also be integrated into daily life, serving as a tool to create moments of reflection, rejuvenation, and care for your creative spirit.

We have been keeping quiet about this for months and months, because we wanted it to be available in shops at the point when we were telling people about it. Bis have done a lovely production job – you get a nice sturdy box, good solid cards, and an instruction leaflet, all printed in nice vibrant colours.

The cards are in three categories – feel, reflect, and explore – and each card has a prompt for thinking about and responding to nature, but also at the bottom has a ‘creative focus’ bit which takes the nature-inspired idea to the level of something you can practically do to advance or improve your current creative project. There’s lots of really interesting prompts and suggestions.

So – if you’re in need of a last-minute Christmas gift, you can get it from your favourite independent bookseller… or from the famously big bad but inexpensive and fast company in Canada ($22 CAD), USA ($15 USD) or UK (£13).
