‘Creativity Everything’ talk at The Power Plant, Toronto

Short version: I’m doing a talk at the The Power Plant, Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, on 15 November 2018, 7.00-8.30pm. Please register here for the free event.

For a while we’ve been planning my talk at The Power Plant, Toronto’s public gallery of contemporary art at the Harbourfront Centre. Initially it would have been a kind of book launch for Making is Connecting – Second Edition, but I already had a proper launch event for that in June, so now it has become something a little different. For instance, I’ll be saying different stuff (mostly).

The talk is called ‘Creativity Everything’, which is also the newly-minted name of my new lab at Ryerson University. It points, hopefully, and obviously, to the broad, inclusive, diverse and multi-disciplinary approach to creativity that I want to foster.

The new blurb captures my current concerns quite well. It says:

Everyone flourishes when we have opportunities to be creative, and to make our mark on the world. David Gauntlett, author of Making is Connecting, will talk about the need for us to leap beyond the current disappointments with social media, and narrow conceptions of ‘maker’ culture, to a new and diverse world of creativity.

If you’re reading this, and you’re in Toronto, I really hope you will come. I’m aiming to make it special and interesting.

As it says at the top, this is a talk called ‘Creativity Everything’ at the The Power Plant, Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, on 15 November 2018, 7.00-8.30pm. It’s free. Please register here. And tell your friends. Thank you.
